McCaw has been ‘managing’ a foot injury throughout the year with speculation regarding his fitness for the showdown with the Wallabies intensifying after his Crusaders team-mate and specialist openside Matt Todd took part in the All Blacks training session on Wednesday. But Hansen has moved to reassure Kiwi fans that their talismanic skipper will be named on Friday to lead his side into battle in this weekend.
The All Blacks’ squad has been bolstered with the addition of fly-half Stephen Donald and winger Hosea Gear this week with playmaker Aaron Cruden also a recent addition. All three have ‘had a lot of work to do’ to get up to speed by Hansen insists this is what Test match rugby is all about.
